When Dr. Marcelo Alquezar founded GSA BPO more than three decades ago, he didn’t inherit a client roster or step into a leading company — he built it from scratch. Today, the founding partner and president proudly reflects on a company that not only survived Argentina’s turbulent economy but grew into a cross-border powerhouse in collections management, multichannel customer service, back-office services, comprehensive BPO solutions and management of outsourced services. 

“Like in high-performance sports, yesterday’s victory is history; we’re always striving for new results,” says Alquezar, a law graduate, certified soccer coach and a passionate believer in the strong parallels between business and competitive athletics.

“In collections and other lines of business, being first today means needing to stay first tomorrow,” explains Alquezar, who also holds an MBA from the Complutense University of Madrid. It’s a mindset that has shaped not just GSA’s culture but its willingness to adopt cutting-edge tools like artificial intelligence ahead of the curve. “If we’re not growing, we’re moving backward,” he says, echoing the company’s internal mantra.
